• Hand out textbooks.
• Rules: Discipline plan is posted.
• Seats will be assigned individually or for the whole class as necessary.
• Be in the room before the second bell or have a late pass or get a referral.
• Acceptable classroom behavior is expected at all times.
• Three strikes, you’re out.  Complete a referral slip and report to ISI.  Students will not be allowed to return to class until a parent-teacher conference has been held.
• Grades are available through Parent Portal and will be frequently posted in class.
• Check for errors and missing assignments.
• Assignments: The agenda for each class will be on the back left board at the bottom. All assignments are due on my desk at the beginning of class. No late assignments will be accepted (see absentee policy).  Course weights are as follows:

                                    Homework: 25%

                                    Class Participation: 25%

                                    Quizzes:  25%             

                                    Projects:  25% 

                                    Each Quarter:  25%                             

• Homework:  Daily reading assignments with guided reading handouts and review questions. Assignments are posted on back left board at the top. Homework will be reviewed in class and will be collected for a grade.
• Class Participation: In class activities, work sheets, pop quizzes, etc. are unannounced.  No make-ups are available for any in-class work missed.  Students will not be penalized and will not receive a grade for an excused absence. Students missing work due to an unexcused absence will receive an automatic zero.
• Quizzes (Q): Given after selected reading assignments.
• Projects: All assignments other than homework must be typed.  Projects that are not typed will not be accepted and will receive an automatic zero.

• Absentee policy:
• If work is missed due to an unexcused absence, the student will receive an automatic zero.
• If sick:  Student has three school days for each day they were absent to complete all back work.  Any back work not completed within the allotted time will receive an automatic zero.
• If not sick (early dismissals, sports, family trips, fieldtrips, etc.)
• Assignments must be completed and submitted IN ADVANCE.
• Any work missed will receive an automatic zero.
• Extenuating circumstances:   See me.  Special arrangements are available.
• This document must be signed and returned by the second day of class for a quiz grade.
