During the Summer of 1863, the Army of Northern Virginia invades the North and engages the Army of the Potomac at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.  From July 1st through July 3rd the battle ebbs and flows and becomes the "High Water Mark" for the Confederacy.  Michael Scharra provides his book Killer Angels as the bases for this movie.
